Digital Pre-Show

Cineplex Media Pre-Shows give moviegoers even more reasons to get to the theatre early and grab their favourite seats. The Pre-Show is an entertainment experience in itself, presenting a mix of current entertainment news and interviews, updates on stars, upcoming releases and advertising that engages and entertains audiences. The Pre-Show is a powerful advertising opportunity, delivering very strong awareness to advertising, and enhancing the movie entertainment experience.

Pre-Show Formats

TIMED: The timed Pre-Show screens offer three timed PODs for advertising: POD 1 (0-7 minutes to showtime), POD 2 (14-7 minutes to showtime) and POD 3 (14-21 minutes to showtime) with delivery to the screen via Kodak HD digital or DVD projection.

LOOPED: The looped Pre-Show screens are delivered via DVD projection with the show running in a continuous loop during the 21-minute Pre-Show period. All advertising is purchased as Run-of-Schedule (ROS).

  • All Pre-Shows run for 21 minutes prior to showtime and are projected in a 16 x 9 format.
  • Advertising is available in three formats: Cineplex Entertainment Pre-Show HD, Empire Pre-Show DVD, and DVD loop shows.
  • Advertising is sold in timed PODs for Cineplex Entertainment DSL HD screens as well as Empire Atlantic region screens. All other DVD Pre-Show screens are sold in a continuous loop format (Cineplex Entertainment DVD screens, Fortune, Festival, Alliance, Landmark and Empire Theatres Ont-B.C.)
  • Advertising may be placed in front of all films or family genre or adult genre releases.
  • The Pre-Show offers national coast-to-coast coverage as well as regional and market-specific flexibility.

Supplying your creative in the incorrect format can result in extra costs and missed deadlines. Your contract will clearly state which media was purchased. If you are unsure which production specs you require or how to use them, contact the Cineplex Media production team at 416-539-8800 ext. 259 or your sales representative.

      • Cineplex Entertainment (HD)

The Cineplex Entertainment Pre-Show HD program runs 21 minutes before showtime with delivery to the screen via Kodak DSL HD digital projection and offers THREE advertising time periods (PODs) to reach waiting audiences: POD 1 (0-7 minutes to showtime), POD 2 (14-7 minutes to showtime) and POD 3 (14-21 minutes to showtime). Advertisers may choose to provide their spot as either a still image, a still image with animated (moving) elements, or as a full motion video image conforming to the following specifications.
